Be Strong and do the work

This is the summary of a sermon I heard today about building our strength. It said, when you go through difficult situations we have 2 choices - we can wonder why or we can ask what next?! There is a time to grieve, time to mourn and even a time to be angry and confused but at some point you have to move on with it. The pain will be there no matter what you do. Drag your pain along and go forward. There will be always be times in your life when the only person who can strengthen yourself is YOU!

If you want to have big muscles you have to lift heavy weights or exercise, no one can do that for you. The only way for you to get strong is to get up, again and again and again even when you don't feel like it or even when you are tired.

We have to push through even when we are tired not just physically but mentally. I have always found that mental tiredness is much more than physical tiredness. Mental tiredness is when you are tired from trying everything you did to make your situation better or failing in spite of putting in all the efforts things don't work whether it is treatments, job, marriage or friendships....just anything or tired from waiting for God to answer your prayer. You see no hope in spite of doing everything. You are so tired of trying that you just want to give up! Mental tiredness drains you, it feels like you have no energy left in you anymore. You have to push through when you are tired. If you wait until you are better 100% you are never going to make it.

Devil wants to stop you from the calling God has for you. So he will feed you with all negative thoughts and everything he can so that you will fail but we need to stand strong during our difficult situations to resist the devil. Ephesians 6:13 says "Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. " When you push through your difficult situations you are going to find joy and peace and be victorious.

1 Chronicles 28:10 says "Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work." The Lord has chosen YOU for the task - whatever your difficult situation is, whether it is to care for a sick person, ailing father/mother, parent a difficult child, raise a special needs child, to lead a ministry, placed you in that job or whatever task he has assigned you. "Be strong and do the work". Strength comes as you go forward. Do in the strength that you have now....don't wait for things to get better.

Why Me?

One of the lingering questions we always have is "Why Me?" We always wonder why are we going through this? Why me? Why not someone else?...
